Characteristics of Resistant Dextrin (RD)

RD is a short-chain dextran that is generated through further processing of starches such as corn and Potato. It is made through a dextrinization process, which involves a series of steps such as hydrolysis and polymerization. It is well-processed and resistant to digestion. Studies indicate RD can lower blood glucose and insulin levels after diet, while it also lowers serum triglyceride and cholesterol levels, regulates intestinal health, and prevents tumor growth.
