Applications of Dextrin

Dextrin is an important product in modified starch, which is formed by linking glucose through α-(1→4) and α-(1→6) glycosidic bonds and can be obtained by degrading starch in various ways. It is generally known as three kinds of dextrins. Dextrin has a variety of excellent properties such as water solubility, adhesion, emulsification, etc. It is recognized as a high-quality, safe, and economical chemical additive, and its production and application prospects are broad.

At present, dextrin is widely used in the field of industry. In the area of the textile industry, dextrin can be used for sizing, printing, and dyeing. In the paper industry, dextrin is mainly used for paper surface sizing and coating. In the adhesive industry, as an adhesive, it is used in paper products and high-speed machinery production applications. In addition to industrial use, dextrin can also be used as a preservative, thickener, and fat substitute.
