Properties of Glucose

Glucose, also known as dextrose, is widely distributed in nature in the form of colorless crystals, white crystals, or granular powders. Pure glucose is generally insoluble in ether, but soluble in ethanol and water. In industry, people use corn, rice, wheat, and cassava as raw materials to produce glucose.

Glucose Manufacture Service at CD BioGlyco

At CD BioGlyco, we have developed a One-stop Solution for Carbohydrate Manufacturing, providing clients with a variety of carbohydrate manufacturing services such as Monosaccharides, Oligosaccharides, Polysaccharides, Carbohydrate Derivatives, Glycolipids, etc. Raw materials for glucose production are mainly dried potatoes, corn, rice, and so on. It has two common production methods: acid hydrolysis and Enzymatic Hydrolysis. The acid hydrolysis method hydrolyzes the starchy raw material into glucose by acid, and the degree of hydrolysis is generally about 87%. The enzymatic hydrolysis method is to produce glucose by enzymatically hydrolyzing raw materials, which have a high degree of hydrolysis and high purity. After years of pioneering and innovating, we process starchy raw materials to produce 250,000 tons of glucose per year.

The manufacturing process of glucose is as follows:

1) Preparation of raw materials: Soak corn, potato, or sweet potato and other materials, then grind and adjust the pulp to obtain starch milk.

2) Starch conversion: The starch milk is hydrolyzed with enzymes to produce dextrin and oligosaccharides. Afterward, more enzymes are added to the mash tank to convert the dextrins and oligosaccharides into glucose.

3) Purification: Further separation and concentration of the saccharified glucose solution.

4) Further processing: Further processing of glucose into other bio-application chemicals.
