Classification and Synthesis of Glycolipids (GLs)

GLs are composed of sugars and lipids. There are more ways to classify GLs, among which they can be divided into simple GLs and complex GLs, including glycoglycerolipid, glycosylated sterols, glycopeptidolipid, etc. GLs have a variety of properties and play an important role in immune response regulation, cell signaling, etc.

Compared with chemical surfactants, GL biosurfactants are non-toxic and are widely used in cosmetics, detergents, treatment of heavy metal pollution, etc. Currently, the main GL products sold on the market include rhamnolipids and sophorolipids. As a new type of green GL surfactant, alkylpolyglucosides (APGs) are also widely used in personal care products, cosmetics, and membrane protein research. In addition to microbial fermentation and enzymatic synthesis, GLs can also be obtained by chemical synthesis. For example, APG is an established surfactant industrially produced by Fischer glycosylation.

Services

CD BioGlyco has a rich study of fine chemicals and a complete production research system. We have strong R&D capability in GL synthesis. We will provide a one-stop GL synthesis service according to the customer's requirements.

  • GL production service
A chemical method with good yield and low price of raw materials is used in the synthesis of GLs. In order to meet the needs of our customers, we also have a specialized team for the research of GL chemical synthesis. We develop GL synthesis protocols and optimize production processes according to our customers' needs. At the same time, we focus on finding low-cost renewable energy sources as substrates for GL synthesis. After GL synthesis, we also conduct cytotoxicity and biodegradability tests. We have a comprehensive testing platform, including thin layer chromatography (TLC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and so on. We will develop relevant bioactivity assays to evaluate the biological effects of GLs according to customer needs.
  • APGs production service
APGs have low surface tension, good ecological compatibility, and mildness. It can be used in cosmetic cleaning, detergent, textile printing, and dyeing. Carbon chain differences lead to a wide variety of APGs. We supply several different APGs, including Decyl Glucoside, Disodium Coco-Glucoside Sulfosuccinate, Lauryl Glucoside, and others. We supply APGs (250g, 1kg bottle, 50kg drum, 220kg/drum, 1 ton).

Applications

  • In the preparation of biomaterials, chemical methods play a crucial role in the synthesis of novel biomaterials.
  • The ability of chemical synthesis to synthesize structurally different GLs has enabled researchers to study the application of different types of GLs in personal care products.
  • The chemical method has been utilized to study the application of novel GLs with different functions and structures in disease prevention.

Advantages

  • Relatively short project cycle from development to product delivery. Minimal variation between batches of GL produced.
  • We specialize in various chemical reactions and are able to synthesize compounds with different structures. We have a wide range of GL products synthesized by chemical methods.
  • We have a wide range of quality testing equipment, and after synthesizing GL, we combine a variety of large-scale instruments to test the quality of GL.

CD BioGlyco has a high-end R&D team, rich R&D experience, and advanced QC equipment. Careful research to provide excellent products for our customers is our driving force. In addition to GLs, we also provide Chemical Production of Monosaccharides and Chemical Synthesis of Oligosaccharides. If you need GLs, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to working with you.
