Wide Range of Uses for Maltodextrin (MD)

MD is the outgrowth obtained after acid or enzyme-catalyzed hydrolysis of starch in a dextrose equivalent (DE) of 20 or less. It is colorless and tasteless, soluble in water, with viscosity, no odor, low sweetness, easy for human digestion, low fat, etc. MD is one of the basic ingredients in the food sector and has been more widely applicate in paper manufacture, daily-use chemical areas, etc.

MD has a huge potential market. It is an excellent carrier of flavor substances and a macromolecule substitute. At the same time, MD is used as a carrier for bioactive compounds and in the manufacture of dehydrated products, where it reduces their viscosity and improves product stability. MD is also widely used in a variety of beverages, such as various beers and sports drinks.

  • MD production service (annual production of 250,000 Ts)

The production process of MD mainly consists of two kinds: the enzyme method and the acid method. Compared with the MD produced by the acid process, the MD produced by the enzyme process will not precipitate long-chain straight-chain starch components. As a result, no precipitate is produced, which greatly increases the commodity value of maltodextrin. We prepare MD by enzymatic hydrolysis. After years of research and innovation, we continue to improve production, and now we produce up to 250,000 tons per year, which can withstand all tests. We supply MD for small-scale experimental and large-scale industrial use.

  • MD detection service

Our MD testing service is performed in strict accordance with MD testing methods. We test MDs used in various products such as dairy, confectionery products, etc. Items include content test, solubility test, acidity test, protein content test, DE value test, iodine test, sulfur dioxide content test, heavy metal test, taste test for MD color, gas phase test, microbiological test, etc.

Applications

  • In materials manufacturing, MD manufacturing technology is used to produce MDs that can be used as food-drying aids and substance-embedding materials.
  • In the food industry, high-quality MDs are used to conduct research on the production of milk powder and other dairy products.
  • Combining MD with other substances is used to synthesize compounds with functional and nutritional properties.
